Tomorrow Hamilton’s Around the Bay 30K Road Race will see approx. 9,000 runners take to the challenging 30K course. First run in 1894 Around The Bay is the oldest running race on the continent. Held three years before the first running of the Boston Marathon it is an event that is rich in tradition and for many athletes, world class and amateurs alike, marks the start of their competitive race season and a true test of their winter training.
For the 6th year in a row the IRONDames, led by Pat Shaw, will be providing Around the Bay runners with encouragement and support at our “Energy Station” located just past La Salle Park across from 47 North Shore Blvd W, Burlington. It’s been one of our favourite IRONDame traditions to cheer our fellow IRONDames and other runners on as they persevere through the last of Northshore’s rolling hills.
Stop by and become a member of our cheering squad. You can’t help but feel inspired! You might just sign up for our Lace up for LOVE Walk / Run Clinic that is being held by Neworld Runners starting this coming Thursday, April 2nd at 6 PM!
The start gun goes off at 9:30 am!
