The IRONDames were out bright and early this morning to cheer on Wellspring’s 27 Peloton Challenge Riders as they set out on their 8 day relay ride to Austin, Texas in support of vital for cancer support services throughout the GTA.
The Ride Launch was held outside the newly named Wellspring Birmingham/Gilgan House (Halton-Peel location) and afforded everyone a sneak peak at how the Centre’s $3M renovation is proceeding! Ann Rohmer, the 2012 Celebrity Champion for the Ride and Launch Emcee got the crowd warmed up with some of her “fitness moves”. Then the importance of Wellspring’s services was brought home as the Rides’ Wellspring Warriors: Roman Kucharczyk, Donna Dingman, Janeen Sodulsky, Diane Osak and Marie Francey personally thanked the Peloton Challenge Riders for their fundraising efforts.
With temperatures of only 4 degrees, it was a chilly start for the Peloton Challenge Riders this morning, but we think the IRONDames’ Custom Original Buffs we gave them will help to keep them warm and bring them luck and strength along the way! They even complemented the Peloton Challenge Rider’s jerseys!
To date the Peloton Challenge Riders have raised an incredible $300,000 for vital cancer support programs offered through Wellspring Centers located in the Greater Toronto Area.
