IRONDames To Run In The 21st Annual Moon in June Road Race

IRONDames having some fun at 2010 Moon in June Road Race

The Moon in June Road Race is a favourite for the IRONDames as it was the first team race we ran together in 2009 and has been used as a personal fundraising challenge for many IRONDames in the past. The race, which takes place on June 2nd this year, also serves as a fundraising event for the Halton Trauma Centre. This year, look out for us in our new uniforms as our member run and volunteer along the route of this evening race.

The race offers a variety of distances from the 2nd Annual Meredith’s Kids 1k Fun Run to a 10k to accommodate every level of runner. The new course is a flat, fast one loop 5k and 2 loop 10km through downtown Burlington. The route highlights the beautiful Burlington Waterfront as the sun sets and runners slip into the darkeness of the cool, late spring night, eventually ending at Burlington City Hall.

The race also makes for a fun a family evening, complete with a Kidsfest from 6pm to 8 pm. At Kidsfest, children are treated to fire trucks, bouncy castles, caricature artists, face painting, chalk drawing, mascots and tons of other activities, followed with the 2nd Annual running of Meredith’s Kids 1km Fun Run.
