It’s been a long cold winter but spring…so we’ve got your Top 3 reasons to NOT go for Run Debunked:

1. It can get boring – Running is exciting, but you need to switch up your running routes, music and pace to stay motivated. To get a new view and have something to work towards, sign up for a run!

2. Lack of time – We get it. Life is hectic! But remember: an average 5K run is only 30 minutes, and a 10K takes approximately 60 minutes.

3. Too Tired – Eat a light snack to give you an energy boost or try running in the morning to get it out of the way before school or work.

family no logoThe Mercedes-Benz Oakville 10K presented by New Balance Oakville is held on April 26th is a favourite first run of the season for the IRONDames and  a great way to kick-off the dust from a long winter. The Race boasts one of the most beautiful routes in Ontario, starting at Appleby College and continuing through historic downtown Oakville past the lakeshore. If you choose to walk, they have that option too. In fact you can bring the whole family to the MB10K as they offer a 10K, 5K, 1K Junior Jog, 300m Toddler Trot and a Mascot Race! As you cross the line you’ll be awarded an awesome Finishers Medal and you may even be the lucky 5K or 10K finisher will drive away in a brand new GLA 4MATIC Mercedes-Benz!

Last of all if you are looking to Step Up & Make A Difference you can choose to dedicate your run to The Mercedes-Benz Oakville 10K 2015 Charity Partner, The Lighthouse for Grieving Children, which supports families in the Halton and Peel region who have experienced a life altering death. Funds raised from the Toddler Trot will also be donated to The Lighthouse.
