IRONDames Safe Despite Boston Tragedy

Today is a sad day for runners, marathons and other large-scale sports events.
Two explosions rocked the finish line of the Boston Marathon just before 3 p.m. Monday. Boston Police say two people were killed and 23 injured. The explosions, which occurred within seconds of each other, happened along congested Bolyston Street, where the marathon finishes.

The good news is we have since heard back from IRONDames, Gail Burgess and Hélène Desrosiers, who confirmed that they are safe.

Hélène was able to complete her race but unfortunately Gail was just short of the finish line when the explosions occurred and race officials closed down the event, evacuating the entire route.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of the other runners and spectators, as well as the police and medical staff that are working hard to deliver aid and investigate this tragedy.
