Our IRONDude Eliot Wallace has long golden locks and it’s a signature look that has worked well for him over the past few years! But life is changing for Eliot. Graduating from Wilfred Laurier University this year he decided to make a clean cut, fresh start and get a buzz, but not without making a difference to two important charities!
On July 2nd Eliot’s long ponytail will be donated to “Angel Hair for Kids”a program of “A Childs Voice Foundation”, that provides wigs and hair loss solutions to financially disadvantaged children in Canada who have lost their hair due to a medical condition or treatment. Inspired by his IRONDame Mom Valerie Lush, Eliot has also decided to fundraise for the IRONDames’ Construction Campaign setting a goal of raising $5,000 in support of the new Cancer Exercise Facility at Wellspring Birmingham Gilgan House.
“When my dad bet me I couldn’t cut my hair before July 1st this idea popped into my head. I already had the idea of donating the actual hair to a cancer wig foundation, but raising money at the same time would add excitement and raise awareness for two great causes.” ~ Eliot Wallace
Eliot’s haircut itself will be video recorded at Wigsville in Burlington on July 2nd and put on our website and YouTube, along with photo updates throughout the month. Owner, John Yokarinis is Eliot’s childhood barber and wasn’t available on July 1st so Eliot’s haircut has been delayed by a day so that John can do the honours! Eliot would not have it any other way!
