Happy 146th Birthday Canada!

One of the featured performers of Canada Day celebrations on Parliament Hill today will be the now-retired Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield, the first Canadian ever to command the International Space Station., during which he preformed over 130 science experiments and made numerous virtual visits to classrooms across the country. Hadfield will be performing I.S.S. (Is Somebody Singing) with Ed Robertson of the Barenaked Ladies.

Chris Hatfield and Ed Roberston co-wrote I.S.S., which debuted on CBCMusic.ca, CBC-TV and CBC Radio on Friday, February 8th 2013 with Hadfield performing from the International Space Station. Their song collaboration was officially commissioned by CBC Music and the Coalition for Music Education for Music Monday celebrations, the annual initiative championing music education. The song also features the voices of Toronto’s Wexford Collegiate School for the Arts glee choir.

We think you will agree that it is an amazing song about being proud to be Canadian, our nation and exploration!
