IRONDames Like Drawing Attention!

There is no one better to Draw Attention to the IRONDames’ 4th Annual Lace up for LOVE Mother’s Day 1 & 5K Walk/Run than Dorothy Amey! Dorothy was at Neworld Cycle & Runners all yesterday bringing their windows alive with her vibrant characters to promote our Mother’s Day Walk/Run for the third year in a row.

Dorothy is from Guelph and is a self-taught artist who started painting windows and walls at the age of 5! Her first commissioned window came 15 years ago for the local Tim Horton’s.

This year’s window concept came from photos of last year’s event. Click here to check out Trent Dilkie’s photos to see if you can spot our inspiration!

The windows at Neworld Cycle took over 8 hours to complete. It was an amazing process to watch Dorothy first rough out a concept with a marker; then apply a base coat; followed by multiple layers of color and meticulous finishing touches to create images with such fabulous personalities and dimension!

Thanks to Dorothy and her handy man husband Russell, Neworld Cycle’s windows capture the spirit of what families will experience at our 4th Annual Lace up for LOVE Mother’s Day 1 & 5K Walk/Run in support of the new Cancer Exercise Facility at Wellspring’s Birmingham Gilgan House in Oakville!

Drop by Neworld Cycle & Runners this week to see Dorothy’s awesome artwork up close and to register in person for Lace up for LOVE. Alternatively to register on-line click here.
