This Sunday, June 24 IRONDames Claudia Hutchinson, Helene Desrosiers and Pat Shaw will be competing in Mont-Tremblant’s inaugural Ironman 70.3 race.  The race series takes place roughly four weeks prior  to the area’s first IRONMAN race.

Claudia Hutchinson will be racing as part of her personal fundraising challenge in support of Wellspring Halton-Peel Cancer Exercise Facility. Pat Shaw and Helene Desrosiers are competing in the event as a lead up to their to their key races respectively being the 2012 Ironman World Championships 70.3 race in Las Vegas, Nevada this September 9th and the 2012 Ironman World Championships in Kailau-Kona, Hawaii this October 13.

The Ironman 70.3 Mont-Tremblant triathlon is said to be a challenging course with scenic views. The 1.2-mile swim takes place in Tremblant Lake, followed by a 1-loop, 56-mile bike through Mont-Tremblant’s mountains. Athletes will then embark on the 13.1-mile run course, finishing in the city’s pedestrian village. We can’t wait to hear the feedback from our IRONDames!
